St Simon Primary School

St. Simon the Apostle School, Rowville was established in 1982, with an initial enrolment of 92 pupils and a staff of six, the second school established by the Parish of St. Jude’s, Scoresby. Rev. Father Les Tomlinson was appointed the first Parish Priest in 1988 when the Parish of St. Simon the Apostle was formed. By 1989 the school population had reached 500, while the catchment area had become one of the fastest growing residential areas of Melbourne. The Parish Church was completed and officially opened by Archbishop Sir Frank Little on 13th November, 1993.

Karoo Primary School, established in 1992, is located in Rowville. The school has developed a positive culture of making a difference in students’ education and assisting them to achieve their potential.

Karoo is part of the Rowville Cluster of Schools and up until 2011 we had a unique zoning policy established by the Region where we only drew enrolments from a defined area. From 2012 this zoning was dismantled. Parents are now free to choose from any government school in the Rowville area.

Rowville Secondary College officially opened in 1990 with approximately 180 students in years 7 and 8. The student population has now grown to over 1800 across two campuses. The original campus, later referred to as “The Western Campus”, caters to students in years 7 to 12 in our General Excellence program, as well as being home to our Maths and Science Academy (MSA). The Eastern Campus opened in 1996 and caters to year 7 to 11 General Excellence students as well as our Sports Academy (RSA) and Institute of the Arts (RIA) students.

St Joseph’s College is a Catholic boys school in the tradition of the Salesians of Don Bosco. As such, one of its foundational aims is to provide a climate where the Gospel is known, lived and loved so that students may be nurtured in the Christian faith and their commitment to Jesus Christ. St Joseph’s College first opened its doors in 1965 as one of a series of regional Colleges which the Melbourne Catholic Education Department were building in strategic parts of the Archdiocese. Through the years the College has continued to expand and diversify to include a wide range of innovative programs and curriculum for boys from Years 7-12.

Stud Park Shopping Centre is anchored by Coles, Kmart, Woolworths, Sam’s Warehouse, The Rowville Library and accommodates 60 specialty stores. It is also supported by approximately 1,500 car parks and is serviced seven days a week by local smart bus connections. Stud Park has had a long association with the community which is why we are known as “The Centre of the Community”.

Westfield Knox Shopping Centre

Westfield Knox (formerly known as Knox City Shopping Centre) is a super-regional shopping centre, outdoor entertainment and professional services complex located in the outer eastern Melbourne suburb of Wantirna South. The centre opened on 9 November 1977 with an initial 88 stores and 2300 parking spaces.

Wellington Village Shopping Centre

1100 Wellington Road, Rowville

Wellington Village Shopping Centre is an architecturally designed shopping centre in Rowville on Wellington Road at the foot of the Dandenongs.

The centre boasts a Ritchies Supa IGA supermarket, an Aldi supermarket, a childcare centre, Medical Clinic and 25 speciality stores.  Stage three opened in July 2014 with up to 10 new stores including an Anytime Fitness Gym at “The Corner – Wellington Village”.
