Entries open for Knox film festival

By Belinda McGuire

Those who reside in real estate in the city of Knox and are budding filmmakers may be interested to know that the Knox Youth Film Festival, Green Foot Flicks, will return in 2013.

The annual event will showcase the best talent that the area has to offer, from acting to directing, writing to producing.

Mayor of Knox Karen Orpen said this presents a great opportunity for participants.

She commented: "We have so many creative young people in Knox and this annual film festival provides the perfect opportunity for their work to be seen by the wider community.

"With great prizes on offer – and shortlisted films being shown at Village Cinemas Knox – there are so many reasons to get involved."

To be eligible, participants must be under 25 years of age and live or spend time in Knox.

As part of the National Youth Week Celebrations, the films will be screened on Monday, April 8.

Films must be under ten minutes and can be of any genre, provided that they are of a G or PG rating.

Entries will be closed on March 4.
