Knox council to hold schools expo

By Belinda McGuire

Knox City Council is advising parents of children who are getting close to moving to secondary school to attend the council's Knox Schools Expo.

Owners of real estate in the city of Knox who have children in the fifth and sixth grade are invited to go and find out more about this significant transition.

An annual event, the expo will be held on March 14 at the Knox Civic Centre.

Parents, guardians and carers of children who are coming to the end of their primary school education are all invited to attend.

Knox mayor Karin Orpen said this is a great way to answer questions that many families may have, while connecting with other people in the area.

"There are so many things to think about when making decisions about secondary school, including social and emotional wellbeing – and practical considerations such as distance from home.

"Choosing a secondary school is a big decision for any parent, guardian or carer. I'd encourage you all to come along on the night, so you can be well informed before making your choices."

Youth and education representatives will attend to provide all the answers necessary.
